teacher feature: Georgana Hall

I'm so excited to start our new Teacher Feature with a spotlight on Georgana Hall!
Georgana Hall is the adorable president of Adornit -- Carolee's Creations. If you haven't visited Adornit's website lately, check it out. Not only are there fabulous papercrafting products, but there are digital designs and these amazing vinyl clings, too. (And a paper giveaway -- love that!) I love Georgana's computer with its vinyl cling -- and am thinking that these would look pretty darned adorable on my metal magnet boards, too.
One of the things I love about Georgana is her focus on her family -- Carolee's Creations is named for her mom, Carolee, and they've been in the crafting business for many years. Her family works together and has fun together -- and if you value family time too, then look out later in the year for Georgana's All about Family class to return to BPS.
Georgana has taught several workshops at Big Picture Scrapbooking...and right now she's getting kits ready for her Women in my Life Projects Now class -- because it's perfect for Mother's Day gifts or a keepsake for yourself. These kits contain everything you need to create four fabulous projects -- so there are enough gifts to go around (or you may keep some and share some -- we won't tell).
Seriously, check out this kit below-- Georgana's family makes the wooden trays by hand, and the papers and embellishments are beautiful. In class you'll get detailed instructions to complete the tray, two layouts, and a mini-album -- so the class and kit are a great value. I got a kit last year and it was great fun -- so pick one up before they're gone!
p.s. I had to come back and edit the post because I cannot believe I didn't mention Georgana's adorable Etsy shop again. (Since I'm a wee bit obsessed with Etsy, that's just hard to believe.) Anyway, look at her picture: her headband, necklace, and bracelet are all handmade by Georgana and available in her shop -- along with some other fabulously unique pieces!

Love Etsy and BPS!!

Glad to see your teacher feature. I am a sixth grade science teacher with a great activity. How about spending an hour getting your young gardeners (and those young at heart), excited about plants and nature? I thought your young gardeners would enjoy an indoor gardening adventure, growing the TickleMe Plant (Mimosa pudica). Recently featured by the National Gardening Associations Kids Store, http://www.kidsgardeningstore.com/14-1030.html
If you want to give your young gardeners an experience they will never forget, consider having them grow a TickleMe Plant. This is the plant that will close its leaves and lower its branches when you tickle it. They sprout in days and can be grown indoors any time of year. Just Google TickleMe Plants or go to www.TickleMePlant.com for seeds and growing kits. This plant has turned many kids into plant and nature lovers. I know, because I grow TickleMe Plants in my classroom. Your children may never look at plants in the same way and neither will you!
Happy Growing
Mark
