I had the pleasure of attending CHA for the first time last week with BPS founders Stacy and Kayce and our managing editor Brandi. CHA is the Craft and Hobby Association's big trade show and education event. I must say I was overwhelmed by the amount of cool stuff just for scrapbooking; tools, paper, embellishments. If you can imagine it, it was there! If you want to see some photos of this cool stuff, please check out Stacy Julian’s blog or the blogs of our BPS teachers like Tami Morrison, May Flaum, Karen Grunberg, Georgana Hall, Claudine Hellmuth or Wendy Smedley who were frantically taking pictures throughout the show.
I was very exited to meet in person many of the BPS teachers and even more excited to meet some of our students. Like Marta who considers herself Stacy’s biggest fan and Shelia who has taken many, many, (did I say many) BPS classes.
But I must say, I was most impressed by what I heard at the show. “ I come here because I love the people.” “I’m in this business because I want to support other women. “ “I love seeing all my friends.”
Of course, there were lots of comments on the “cool stuff” but the main vibe was the sense of community. As a former corporate marketing gal, I must say this was the thing that surprised me the most. I’m so blessed to now be part of this community and thank you for welcoming me.
I have no challenge for this week but I do have a gift.
