The first one coming up is my next photography class, Moving Into Manual.
This class is for photographers that own an SLR camera and have a good basic knowledge of composition and lighting, and can comfortably use aperture- and shutter-priority modes. I love that this class is being offered during the summertime (at least for those of us here in America!), when there are SO many things to take photos of! When you use manual mode on your camera you can manipulate that bright sunlight to make your photos amazingly creative!
At the beginning of the summer I decided that I was going to absolutely wear my kids out every single day. I wanted them (and me!) to go to bed at night, exausted and happy from the activities of the day. Some activities were more involved than others (there’s nothing wrong with just setting up a sprinkler in the back yard!), but no matter what we do each day my goal is to have my memory cards absolutely FULL with photos of summer.
Well, the summer is half way over now and I literally have hundreds of photos. My ultimate goal for those photos is to create some sort of album simply titled “Summer 2010”.
I’m also absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Big Idea Festival!
And how cool that it’s FREE, right? The Cocoa Daisy kit is SO adorable and the colors are beautiful. I had a blast playing around with the supplies and I can’t wait for you to see my featured project. Let’s just say it sits right in my entryway and every single person that has come to my house has commented on it. It’s one of those projects that I never get tired of looking at. Here’s a little sneak peek!
I hope to see you in both of these classes! I promise you’ll walk away from each one feeling more inspired to take better photos and display those photos in a creative way.
No matter what you’re taking photos of this summer, consider taking to heart my photo philosophy: Don’t ever miss a photo moment because you’re worried your photo won’t be technically perfect. The memories you capture in photos are far more important than the quality of the photo. Just keep on clickin’!
such beautiful photos, cant wait to see the full projects on completion
