Tell your story

You have a story to tell—we all do. We all are creating memories, and stories every day of our life, but most of us don’t know how to “tell” that story. How many times a day do your kids say something cute/funny/embarrassing (enter your own adjective here) and you find yourself saying “I need to write that down!” but you never do? And what about those vacations you take every year…what are the important memories that you want to remember years down the road?

Karen Grunberg, veteran BPS teacher, has a solution to this problem. Her new workshop, Book of Stories, will teach you a system to store, organize and USE all those great stories. Karen will teach you how to reflect on and celebrate your life! What are you waiting for?

Tuesday Tip!

 

I was inspired to declutter my overwhelming stash of stickers going back years, and I realized that one of the reasons I had kept them or bought them was to use them with some photos on a page in the future that obviously hadn't been made yet.

I clipped post-it notes to the ones that triggered a memory - kind of how you sort the photos from the storage binders into the category drawers or write stuff on the tags (Photo Freedom book).

I saved the ones that triggered memories for me and put aside the ones that didn’t. I don't have category drawers made yet but I have put them in a special accordion folder so I can create pages for my albums with or without photos, or maybe a mini book!

What is also cool is that if something happens to me in the meantime, there is writing clipped to these stickers that represents a memory or story.

More Big Ideas and a Surprise!

Doris Sander  shows us that all you need is a little JBS Ranger paint in Chicken Feed orange to make the line perfect for the pumpkin patch and Halloween.  The pumpkins are made from our JBS Coredinations line of embossed cardstock.  Love how the paint makes the embossed design shine through.

   

She also created this delightful autumn leaves layout, "Fall Friends."  Notice the sweet new buttons and star stickers.

Tuesday Tip!

When I bring the mail in for the day, I open it and immediately sort it into folders.  The "bills to pay" go in one folder, "things to file" go into another folder and "to shred" go into a third folder.  I also have a "Zach's school" folder, so that when my son comes home from school with a million papers, they go into that folder too. This way at least my kitchen counter stays clean and tidy!

Big Idea Festival - Day Four Recap
