As we start the week, here are a few things for you to think about with me!
First, the United Nations' International Day of Peace is Sunday, September 21st. On this global holiday, individuals, communities, nations, and governments highlight efforts to end conflict and promote peace. So, I ask you to think about how you are a peacemaker in your corner of the world. I propose that as scrapbookers, we are all making peace as we create: our pages are designed to demonstrate our love for family, friends, and all we hold close to our hearts, and for many of us, as we reflect on our lives we use scrapbook pages to make peace with our past and our present. After all, we must find peace within ourselves in order to share peace with others. Just some thoughts for the day...and the link takes you to the official website for Peace Day, with links to live concerts and other events -- there just might be something happening near you this week. Cool stuff.
Secondly, I'd like you to visit a blog I'm following: c jane is currently documenting the trials and recovery of Stephanie and Christian Nielson as they recuperate from a horrific plane crash on August 16th. The dedication of Stephanie's sister Courtney (aka c jane) and the strength of the family in the midst of this crisis is heart-moving and inspirational. Their medical bills are, as you can imagine, tremendous, so there is a place for you to donate if you are so inspired. Their greatest requests, though, are for thoughts and prayers.
So check these sites out and have a wonderful week!
